Online Payment FAQ’s

Where Does the Money Go?

All Retainer Deposits are sent to our trust account.  If you deposit a retainer through our website – by credit card or e-check – it will be deposited directly into an Interest On Lawyers Trust Account (IOLTA) held by Founders Legal® (Bekiares Eliezer LLP) at a major U.S. bank.  All interest earned from IOLTA is transferred to the State Bar to support legal aid, legal education for the public, and improvements to the justice system.  If you pay an invoice, those funds are sent to our operating account.

What Can Founders Legal Do with Money Held in Trust?

Only keep it safe. Until we complete the agreed-upon work to earn all or part of the funds, we cannot and (will not) do anything with the money that we hold in trust.

Can I Get a Refund?

Yes – there is no need to worry.  If we did not yet do the work you paid us to do, you are entitled to a full refund.  If we did some of the agreed upon work, we will return everything that we did not earn.
