Terrain radar and gradual building of a route in a virtual environment of a video game

Details:

‘Death Stranding’ creator Hideo Kojima has just been awarded a USPTO patent. The patent, originally filed in July of 2019, lists Kojima as the sole inventor and is assigned to Sony Interactive Entertainment, LLC.

According to the background of the patent, “in a single-player game where one player independently progresses through the game, there is virtually no interaction with other players. As such, in single-player or multi-player gaming, there may be a disconnect between players that are not on the same gaming session. The disconnect occurs when players play the same video game at different times (e.g., different days). For example, while players may directly communicate with each other while they are simultaneously playing, no communication between players is possible through the game play in one disconnect. In another disconnect, there is an absence of changes to the gaming environment effected through one player’s actions in another player’s gaming environment.”

INVENTION OVERVIEW:

The patent describes a method for recognizing player interaction within an environment across multiple asynchronous game sessions. As a player interacts with the terrain in one game state, the game measures the interaction and changes the terrain for other players.

For example, as players take similar routes across multiple asynchronous game plays, a path will eventually form there for all players.

Method and apparatus of analyzing social network data to identify a financial market trend
VERIZON
US Pat. No. 11,195,238

INVENTION OVERVIEW:

A method and system for identifying financial trend information by processing social media data and financial information provider data. The system analyzes financial information provider client data and social media posts referencing a financial market entity over a period and correlate the data to changes in the financial market entity. The system then determines the change in the market due to the social media posts.

Promoting social media content in search

INVENTION OVERVIEW:

A way to link social media to query results. The query result is analyzed for relevant social media content. A subset of social media results is displayed based on a promotion score provided through an auction.

AT&T Intellectual Property

INVENTION OVERVIEW:

A method for changing the view of a window using multiple cameras. The first camera determines the viewpoint of a user. The second camera then utilizes that data to position itself in a second location. The image feeds from the two cameras are then combined to change the view displayed by the window. For example, buildings can be removed from the view to show the beachfront.

Sound-modulating windows

INVENTION OVERVIEW:

A method of minimizing the sound within a vehicle. Sensors detect sounds around the window, and actuators connected to the window then induce vibration to minimize the detected sound energy. The application of this method is similar to active noise cancellation used in headphones.
