About Robin L. Gentry

Robin L. Gentry is Senior Counsel at Founders Legal and a seasoned litigator who has appeared in over 450 federal court cases and numerous cases within the Georgia state court system as well as in the Federal Circuit, Eleventh Circuit, and Georgia appellate courts. Robin’s practice focuses on intellectual property and complex business litigation. For more than two decades, she has represented companies, institutions, executives, and individuals in high-stakes disputes involving copyright, trademark, patent, trade secrets, restrictive covenants, breach of contract and other complex commercial claims.

Robin has first chaired a TRO evidentiary hearing and served as second chair in trials involving allegations of patent infringement and breach of contract Robin has briefed and argued dispositive, post-trial and procedural motions, and briefed cases to appellate courts. Robin also routinely takes and defends depositions. Clients turn to her when matters are technically complex, fact-intensive, and capable of materially affecting a business.

Her intellectual property litigation experience spans copyright disputes, trademark litigation, patent cases, trade secret matters. Robin’s practice spans a wide variety of technical areas including software systems, source code, patents related to genetics and biological systems, music streaming services, and aviation systems.

Robin has also litigated and tried a broad range of complex commercial matters outside traditional IP. Her trial work includes federal and state court cases involving breach of restrictive covenants, as well as, for example, complex commercial disputes including breach of fiduciary duty and breach of contract claims. She has represented both sophisticated corporate clients and individuals defending against claims brought by large national companies, giving her experience on both sides of high-stakes litigation.

Robin has appeared before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and brings a combination of trial experience, intellectual property fluency, and technology-focused litigation that is uncommon even among seasoned litigators. She is known for disciplined preparation, sharp legal analysis, and the ability to manage complex disputes with both precision and strategic judgment.

Robin earned her law degree from Wayne State University (class of 2001) with magna cum laude honors. While maintaining attention to her studies, Robin was an active member of the Wayne Law Review, the Wayne State Moot Court team, including winning membership to their “national” team in her third year and participating in the Giles Rich Memorial Moot Court Competition where she and her teammate won best brief for the Midwest region.

While in college Robin participated as part of a student team assisting the Michigan State Police in a forensic investigation of reports of recent human burials and participated in an archaeological “dig” at Hayonim Cave in Israel.
