WIPO has dedicated the theme of this year’s event to raising awareness of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and IP rights.
SMEs play a large role in the global economy, accounting for 99.9% of U.S. businesses. However, a recent report from the EUIPO and EPO reveals that only 9% of SMEs hold IP Rights. The report also concludes that companies who own IP rights have a revenue per employee 55% higher than companies who do not own IP rights. Narrowing those businesses down to SMEs, the difference in revenue per employee is actually higher at 68%.
It’s important to identify your IP Roadmap and ensure that you take the necessary steps to secure and protect your rights.Questions about Trademarks?
