USPTO Trademark Filing Fees Are Increasing In January
Effective January 2, 2021, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) will increase its official fees for a variety of filings. These adjustments range between $25 – $200 per filing and will affect applications, post registration, petition, and Trademark Trial & Appeal Board (TTAB) fees.
This is the first such increase in trademark filing fees in three years. The USPTO’s stated rationale for these increases is increased operational costs and decreased collections due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as markedly increased filing volume in recent years.
