Information Processing System, Server, and Information Processing Method

ASSIGNEE: Nintendo Co. & The Pokemon Company
US PAT. APPL. NO. 2023/0191256 A1

Invention Overview:

In the dynamic world of gaming, innovation is the name of the game. The industry giants, Nintendo and Pokémon Company, have once again proven their prowess in this realm with their latest patent application. This patent application is set to redefine the gaming experience, making it more immersive, interactive, and thrilling than ever before.

The patent application, introduces a unique concept that ensures opportunities for recovery of an item by a pick-up event in a game. This innovative idea is set to add a new layer of excitement and strategy to the gaming experience. The process begins when a loss event occurs in a game. The system, developed by Nintendo and Pokémon Company, generates event management data based on this loss event data. This data is then stored in a first storage area. When the system receives an event reception request from the game system, it randomly selects non-occurring event management data from the first storage area. This data is then used to generate other loss event data, which is transmitted back to the game system. Upon receiving the other loss event data, the game system sets lost items in the game field. This means that the game enters a state where a pick-up event can be caused based on an operation performed by the player. This allows for the recovery of lost items, making the game more engaging and dynamic.

This patent application, assigned to Nintendo and Pokémon Company, brings a new level of interactivity and excitement to gaming. By allowing players to recover lost items through pick-up events, it adds a new layer of strategy and engagement to games. It also ensures that players who are friends have opportunities to perform pick-up events with respect to loss events of their friends, fostering a sense of community and cooperation. Moreover, the patent application ensures that even when the number of non-occurring event management data stored in the server is small, the server can transmit a certain number of other loss event data to the game system. This ensures that the game is performed with a lot of other loss event data, making the gaming experience more dynamic and unpredictable.

In conclusion, this patent application represents a significant step forward in the gaming industry. Nintendo and Pokémon Company have once again demonstrated their commitment to enhancing the gaming experience for players around the world. By introducing a new level of interactivity and strategy, they promise to redefine the gaming landscape. This patent application is a testament to the power of innovation and the endless possibilities that the world of gaming holds.

PATENT ABSTRACT & ART:
An example of a server receives first event data from an information processing apparatus. The server stores therein event management data including event state information that indicates whether a second event has already occurred or has not yet occurred. When receiving a request from the information processing apparatus, the server transmits at least one piece of second event data to the information processing apparatus. The at least one piece of second event data includes second event data based on event management data in which the event state information indicates that the second event has already occurred and/or second event data to be transmitted when the second event data stored in the first storage area is insufficient. Upon receiving the third event data indicating that the second event has occurred, the server updates the event state information so as to indicate that the second event has already occurred.
