Founders Legal Leads Successful Resolution of Jenka Lab and Bronnikov Consulting’s IP Dispute

ATLANTA, GA — Jenka Lab LLC and Bronnikov Consulting LLC have reached a confidential
resolution to conclude a federal intellectual property action filed earlier this year in the Western
District of Pennsylvania. Founders Legal led the resolution effort on behalf of the plaintiffs,
bringing closure to a dispute involving the alleged use and display of unauthorized gaming
machines incorporating protected software, artwork, and trademarks associated with the Aurora
Link system.
The Complaint alleged that defendant operated unauthorized versions of the Aurora Link game
that replicated the audiovisual effects, gameplay, and trademarks of the legitimate products. The
Complaint further alleged that the unauthorized machines contained decompiled or altered
versions of Bronnikov Consulting’s confidential source-code libraries and activation logic, which
are central to verifying authenticity and preventing tampering in regulated amusement-machine
environments. As the exclusive distributor of Aurora Link, Jenka Lab asserted that the
unauthorized machines threatened to mislead operators, erode product reliability, and disrupt
established distribution channels, which it alleged resulted in economic harm and brand dilution.
Bronnikov Consulting develops the Aurora Link game internally and maintains federal copyright
registrations for its components. It also has developed and owns various trade secrets related to
the game, which it vigorously protects. Jenka Lab owns federally registered word and design
marks that identify its products across the COAM and broader amusement-machine sectors.
The lawsuit asserted claims for copyright infringement, contributory infringement, trademark
infringement, false designation of origin and unfair competition, misappropriation of trade
secrets, and related state-law violations. Defendant denied the allegations in the Complaint and
any wrongdoing.
The matter has now been resolved under terms that are satisfactory to all parties in a confidential
settlement agreement.

The case underscores the importance of safeguarding secure software architecture in the gaming
and amusement-machine industry and illustrates the risks posed when proprietary code is
accessed or altered outside authorized channels.
